Tasting - Canyon Road

Name: Canyon Road
Variety: Pinot Noir
Region: California
Country: USA
Year: 2012
Price: $6.95
Winery Review: Rich, fruit flavored cherry flavors, soft tannins, a medium body and a smooth velvety finish. Pairs well with creamy soups, salmon, and savory pork dishes.
Personal Review: This wine smelled like dark, ripe cherries, plums, and sweet blackberries. The wine was dry but also smooth at the same time with a creamy finish. It was chewy but not so thick that I felt sick after tasting it. It was very fruit-forward with dark red cherries, blackberries and plums. There was also a hint of apricot that kind of lightened up the flavor after the "punch" of fruit that was present upfront.
