Tasting - Petrucco Ribolla Gialla Friuli

Name: Petrucco
Variety: Ribolla Gialla Friuli
Region: Friuli-Venezia
Country: Italy
Year: 2009
Price: Regular: $20.00; Sale: $11.95
Winery Review: This well-priced Friulano would pair nicely with spicy Italian or Thai food thanks to the creaminess and richness of its mouthfeel. In addition, the wine offers a solid bouquet of peach and melon that would not compete with fragrant ingredients. 87 Points - Wine Enthusiast
Personal Review: On the nose, this wine smelled of peaches, citrus, and of small white flowers. It was crisp and fruity smelling. However, the tasted was dry, rubbery, sour, mouth-puckering, spicy, and a little hot. The fruits I could tasted were honeydew melon and lemon. The wine was quiet sweet-smelling, but it was definitely not super fruity or sweet-tasting. I did not like this wine and did not pair it with any food.
